BSP Hosts WOWS Kids to Christmas Celebrations and Donates $15,000.
BSP Financial Group Limited (BSP) extended a generous $15,000 donation to the Walk on Walk Strong (WOWS) Kids Fiji Foundation, reaffirming its commitment to the courageous children battling cancer. This capped off the joyous Christmas experience hosted by BSP for these young warriors.
The day commenced with the families meeting up for breakfast before they were transported to the premiere of the animated movie "Wish," a film that captures the essence of hope and resilience. Rajeshwar Singh, GM Corporate Services & CFO at BSP, shared his delight in providing an experience that encouraged these warriors to hold onto their dreams, emphasising that even a glimmer of hope can light up their world, just like in the movie.
Following the cinematic treat, the children were hosted a Christmas party at Api Tonga ensuring that every child, alongside their families, experienced the magic of the season. The event featured personalised gifts to remind each one that they are not alone in their courageous battle against cancer.
This was followed by the presentation of the cheque and a scrumptious lunch and merry making by the families. Rajeshwar Singh reiterated the bank's dedication, acknowledging the Foundation's relentless efforts in supporting these remarkable warriors and their families. “This significant donation underscores BSP's steadfast support, bringing the total value of the Bank’s financial contribution to $85,000.
Mr Vilash Chand, WOWS Kids Fiji Vice Chair, acknowledged the generous donation by BSP. “We extend our sincerest thanks to the BSP family for their consistent support, enabling us to provide crucial assistance to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey”.
WOWS Kids Fiji Trustee, Annabel Ali who was also present at the event confirmed that they currently support 77 children battling cancer across Fiji. Their comprehensive assistance encompasses transportation to and from treatment centres, counselling services, fostering peer support networks and continuous monitoring to bolster patients' recovery rates.
"Accessing treatment poses a significant challenge for these patients and can impede their path to recovery. The financial strain on families to meet these essential costs is daunting, and we value every bit of support received to aid these patients," she mentioned.
BSP remains steadfast as a foundational sponsor of WOWS Kids Fiji, standing in solidarity with these young fighters since the Foundation's inception in Fiji.
