BSP is looking for a motivated, dynamic and experienced individual to join its Banking Application, Development and Support team based at its Parade Building Suva office. This is your opportunity to join the Pacific’s leading, fast-evolving bank, driving innovative digital banking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1.  Lead the architecture and enhancement of Core Banking, Card Processing and related business applications.
2. Design, develop and optimise Oracle-based solutions (Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, Java on WebLogic/Apache).
3. Manage security, data integrity, backup and disaster recovery for enterprise applications in line with PCI, EMV and SWIFT requirements.
4. Provide advanced support for production business systems, working closely with infrastructure, network and security teams.
5. Ensure ITIL-aligned incident, problem and change management across all supported applications.
6. Contribute to budgeting, vendor evaluation and contract negotiation for Oracle, middleware and application services.
7. Mentor and coach team members in Oracle development, Java/middleware support and business-systems practices, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Experience, Skills & Qualications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/IS or related field; postgraduate qualification an advantage.
• Experience in the Banking/Financial or ICT industry (8+ years with Core Banking and/or Card Processing is an advantage).
• Strong Oracle skills: SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning and core DBA.
• Practical experience administering Oracle Databases (Data Guard or RAC exposure an advantage).
• Experience supporting Java applications on WebLogic and Apache (or similar enterprise stacks).
• Working knowledge of PCI DSS, EMV and SWIFT standards and related compliance activities is an advantage.
• Solid project management capability and clear technical writing skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL service management practices and virtualisation technologies is an advantage.
