BSP Donation to FENC Fiji Surpasses $100K

Date: Saturday 11 January 2020

BSP handed over a further 300 back to school packs to Fiji's Foundation for the Education of Needy Children (FENC) today.  This donation to Fiji's underprivileged children also marks a milestone as BSP's total contribution reached $105,000 since the partnership began in 2010.

Officiating the handover, BSP's Vasiti Vugakoto emphasized the Bank's passion to support the education of Fiji's less fortunate youngsters since benefits go beyond the classroom.

"We hope to motivate these children to persevere despite their financial situation and attain the best education possible to become responsible, hardworking, and productive citizens so they are empowered to break away from the cycle of poverty. Only then can they redeem themselves and those they love."

BSP's partnership with FENC Fiji and other like-minded institutions is aligned with the Bank's commitment to vanua and community. "As a responsible Bank with Fiji at heart, we understand the challenges families face when trying to send their children to school such as uniforms, sandals, transportation and decent meals. This donation serves to alleviate this burden of responsibility."

Over and above this donation, BSP commits to assisting valued customers with Personal Loans that fund their back to school needs. "All our 17 branches with our highly trained staff are delivering on our fast turnaround times for these applications as the start of school draws near."

BSP upholds an active role in nation building through initiatives that give back to Fiji. "Our community engagements go beyond banking, beyond products and services, beyond our branches.  We are a real part of Community and we are committed to giving back.  We invite other corporate organisations to follow us and support this worthy cause." concluded Ms. Vugakoto.

Since 2010 we have given over $9m back to communities in Fiji through Community Projects, Sponsorships, Donations and Customer Promotions.
